General meetings are held
at 8:00 PM in the church hall at STS PETER & PAUL Parish ,
on the third Tuesday of every month except during the months of July and
August. For more details, see Activities.
Sts. Peter & Paul council
received its charter on May 16, 1994 through the efforts of the then
District Deputy Joe Chisholm and Father John Newton, pastor of Sts. Peter
& Paul Parish. Since the council was established as a parish Council it
took the name of the Parish.
While working to
establish this new council within his district, Joe Chisholm was taken ill
however he continued to ensure all the paperwork was completed from his
hospital bed. Sadly, Joe passed away but not before he was informed the
charter had been approved. In recognition of his dedication, our Knight of
the Year trophy bears his name.
The charter members were parishioners of Sts. Peter & Paul who were either new recruits or transfers from other area councils.
Our council has developed a “round table” affiliation with Sts. Cyril & Methodius Parish that serves the Slovak community. Several members of Sts. Cyril & Methodius Parish have joined with Sts. Peter & Paul Council, establishing a link and promoting cooperation between the two parishes.
